Tom R. Smith, President and General Manager
With over 26-years of experience in software sales and marketing, including launching many successful technology based businesses, Tom taps into his expertise every day as he assumes responsibility for Countermind’s business strategies and day-to-day operations. Tom's experience also includes executive management roles in marketing, and sales for software and hardware companies, including Rational Software, Dazel Corporation and Hewlett Packard.
During his 10 years at Rational Software, Tom was part of the initial field sales team and was responsible for growing revenue in a seven state region from zero to over $25 million during a four-year period. For three years, Tom worked at Dazel Corporation as Director of Strategic Initiatives, where he was responsible for launching MetaWeb and instrumental in assessing and acquiring third-party technologies embedded in Dazel's products. During Tom's seven years with Hewlett-Packard he managed a horizontal territory and grew one of Hewlett-Packard's process controls customers into the largest OEM of HP1000 mini-computers.
Tom also brings over 20-years of enterprise software start-up experience including a management and executive role at @hand Corporation in Austin, Texas. During his time at @hand Tom held the positions of VP Sales/VP Marketing/VP Business Development and was directly responsible for @hand's mobile go-to-market strategy and revenue production. In addition, Tom has extensive channel experience and has personally drafted and negotiated hundreds of licensing and third-party agreements with end-users, OEMs, and value-added resellers.
Dan Barry, VP of Product Development and Professional Services
Dan brings over 18-years of experience in software product development, information technology, systems integration and product marketing to his role at Countermind. In addition, Dan has extensive experience in building and managing software product development organizations as well as managing and delivering professional services. Dan’s management experience includes senior management positions in product development and professional services with Intuit and Kintera. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Product Development at American Innovations, a software company providing risk management software.
Dan’s technical background is ideally suited for the product focus and software architecture at Countermind. He has a strong Services Oriented Architecture background and wealth of experience in .Net and C#.
Dan keeps up with industry trends with certifications relevant to his field of expertise, including his Six Sigma certification and training. Dan also holds a Master’s Degree in Science from Indiana University and Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
Bob Strle, Vice President of Sales
Bob brings over 24-years of experience in enterprise software sales, sales management, and new territory development. His proven track record growing and managing both direct and channel sales organizations provides a wealth of experience that continues to shape Countermind. In the past, Bob has held senior management positions with Picturetel, ITC Media Conferencing, and AT&T. Most recently, he served as Global Director of Sales at ACT Teleconferencing where he developed and managed new sales channels within the organization, generating over $16-million in incremental annual revenue.
